Carpet tiles will be Cradle to Cradle certified at DESSO
Already 25% of all carpet tiles have a Cradle to Cradle certificate, further progress in the carpet and artificial grass divisions this year. Followed by, consumer carpet DESSO products Cradle to Cradle. Way of working is to avoid or eliminate toxic raw materials and additives. By making a list of the ingredients of the entire component that are used in carpets, at this moment 150 chemical components are used in carpets. Which of these are toxic and will be eliminated? This means a close collaboration with manufacturers when DESSO is looking for alternatives. This plan will be developed to ensure DESSO meets its goal in this area. In 2020 DESSO will work totally different as the Cradle to Cradle principle, the needed raw materials are going to be recycled materials and even generate our own energy (e.g. biogas), the colored yarn are separated and if possible colored again.
